hanging around while Rob 'Sparky' Townsend works his magic

Both sides featured players tonight, who by way of a massive coincidence were all called A Trialist.
Hence no programmes, or team sheets were issued, and no line up details will feature on this blog, out of respect to both clubs, who probably wouldn't want any clues about the identities of any of players they may be interested in signing, revealing all over the internet.
Matt Green opened the scoring for the Stags, when he 'trickled' the ball gently over the line from all of three feet out, after 19 minutes.
Several more chances went begging before the interval, but the score remained at 0-1 when the teams went in for the half time break, though the visitors had their keeper Ryan Hopkins to thank for preserving their single goal lead, when he denied Ewan Clarke in a one on one duel on 45 minutes.
Mansfield netted twice in the second half.
The first via a direct free kick from just outside the Rainworth area taken by one of the A Trialist's and then Luke Jones added the third Stags goal, when he got on the end of an in-swinging corner from Ben Hutchinson out on the left flank, to score from close range.
Ewan Clarke almost netted a consolation goal for Rainworth, but he crashed the ball against the crossbar in the final minute.

It was bloody cold by the time the game finished tonight, at around 10.15pm.
It's almost time to crank the central heating up again and if it doesn't work I know just who to call to get it fixed.
Rob Townsend ... what a guy!
