The main pitch at the Diagonals ground wasn't marked out tonight, so the game was played on the one nearest the perimeter fences of Rampton Hospital instead.
The goal area at one end was quite boggy, but I guess that was to be expected, because, in case you hadn't noticed, though the sun was shining brightly over Woodbeck, it's actually been pissing it down, non stop, for approximately two whole months now.
In the event, the pitch held up well and didn't prevent either side from putting on an absorbing, fast flowing and high scoring game of football.
Woodbeck, of the Notts Youth League, gave Harworth of the North Midlands U19 (Division 2) a few things to ponder over, but the visitors won through in the end, just about, against the slightly younger home side.
