Another Thursday night friendly work out for the Stags Under 19's, following on from their home victory over Fleetwood Town yesterday afternoon.
The Notts side gave Mansfield's lads a good run for their money and went in one goal ahead at the break, after Scott Rogers was lobbed from the edge of the box on 32 minutes having been exposed to the danger the Schools side presented, by a temporally absent defence.
Scott's growing in stature fast this season and it's good to hear him commanding and encouraging his defence well throughout matches ... though I'm not sure what he would've wanted to say to them after that lapse.

Matt Harris put the game level right at the beginning of the second half but the Stags were behind again a minute later as their opponents attacked straight from the restart.

Olly Medley, the ex Mansfield Town keeper, playing in the Notts School side's goal tonight had been 'enjoying' some banter with the Stags followers behind his goal and was definitely giving as good as he was got.
He was visibly gutted when a clumsy challenge from one of his defence gave away a penalty right in front of his 'fan club' and his misery was compounded when Matt Harris drilled the ball home and passed a little comment of his own towards his former team mate.
Olly played really well, but he was a bit quieter after the penalty.

I'm having to miss a lot of the Mansfield Town U19's league games this season, because of their midweek 2pm kick off times, but I'm enjoying the Thursday night extras a lot ... keep them coming.
