Welsh international Joe Ledley opened the scoring for the Rams with a decent strike in the fifty ninth minute and then Tom Lawrence (who had been at Ipswich on loan two seasons ago) doubled Derby's advantage with a well placed free kick that gave the visitors goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski's no chance of making a save, much as he tried to do at full stretch.
This was a poor game, very poor indeed, the two goals detailed above are the only on target efforts on goal that Frank Lampard's side had in the whole ninety plus minutes. Ipswich also only had two, but failed to convert them both.
I would expand on the remainder of the action but there wasn't really any of note and to be honest, I would've left early if my car wasn't blocked in, in a nearby car park, until after the game.
FT: Derby County 2 v Ipswich Town 0
I've watch an awful lot of football this season thus far, and tonight I witnessed a lot of awful football. If I see another match as bad as this one again this season, I might stop watching games altogether.
