Teversal will have to console themselves with the fact that this was just a pre season warm up game, because they were given a bit of a runaround by their Edwinstowe based CMFL North opponents at times this afternoon.
You can't read too much into the results of opening friendly games at the beginning of July, but it was evident that Thoresby looked fit and raring to go already, whilst Teversal will hopefully peak once the preparation games are all over and done with and the season starts for real.
Lee Tryner, back for a second spell in charge at Thoresby, via a stint at Clipstone, will have been just as pleased with the high tempo performance the team he his assembling for the forthcoming season put in, as this moral boosting result.
Once they got their noses in front through an eighth minute Jamie Tryner penalty, awarded for a challenge that had all the hallmarks of pre season clumsiness about it rather than anything malicious, the visitors worked hard to to hold onto their lead and looked solid at the back, in what was a good work out for them against NCEL Division 1 opposition.
As for Tevie ... well, they'll know what aspects of their game they'll need to concentrate on improving now, so today's 'kick-about' will have served it's purpose for them as well.

Substitute Michael Fazakerley looks good for a few goals in 2014-15, as he showed this afternoon, but going by last years first hand touchline view I had of most CMFL North sides, there are a good few teams in that league who will take advantage of any side that doesn't keep it tight at the back.
It's hard to make a snap judgement after one game, but today's first impression on Tryner's Thoresby, indicates that they'll be there or thereabouts with the teams who are expected to do well in the step 7 league next term.
In my humble opinion, the World Cup has been half decent and enjoyable thus far, but it is definitely nice to have the chance to get out and watch some proper football for a change instead.
Zico Grinion almost scored a consolation goal for Teversal as they found their second wind late in the game, but he hit the post.
Teversal is one of the friendliest and most welcoming clubs in the area and they were magnanimous in defeat, on what was a pleasant afternoon all round, spent in the company of the 'un-usual suspects' and representatives of at least nine other local clubs.
I salute you all!
I'm raring to go for 2014-14 now... and will definitely be dropping by to check out on Thoresby's progress during the season whenever the opportunity arises, given that they only play 10 minutes away from Chez THE66POW.
