"Quick lads hide here and hope that the referee doesn't spot us"
Carlsberg don't make football referees ... but if they did, you'd like to hope that they would be infinitely better than Matt McGrath.
Not that the match official was entirely to blame for Frickley's loss this afternoon. Because, if truth be told, they contributed to their own downfall on a number of occasions.
Nor could you say, in all fairness, that Ashton hadn't played well enough to deserve something out of this game, because they actually made light of the conditions and passed the ball around well at times.
But, I was watching the last few minutes of the match, with a couple of neutral spectators at around the time that McGrath showed red cards to the home sides goalkeeper and their main striker, late in the game, and they both thought that the referee had been harsh at best, but OTT with his decision making never the less.
Match details to follow, eventually.
