On a bitterly cold night in Shirebrook, Worksop Town have beaten Harworth Colliery Institute by four goals to nil.
All four goals came in the second half, Danny Briggs helped himself to a hat trick and Joe Rowlands added the fourth on his début.
Harworth had given a good account of themselves until the Tigers Under 19's had put a two goal cushion between themselves and their North Notts visitors, but then they lost their way a bit and the Tigers took control of the last 15 minutes or so.

It might have been a different story if the ref would've given HCI what looked like a clear penalty in the first half or hadn't been quite so lenient when the last man through on goal was felled by a Worksop defender around the hour mark when the scores were still 0-0.
Maybe you'd have to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he'd taken the pitch conditions into consideration, possibly Harworth's bad luck curse will continue until the end of the season ... either way they were hard done by both times.

Special mention to Josh Sweetnam who's hard work and determined running in the second half created two of the strawberry blonde colossus's goals for him ... surely that performance warrants a start at Calverton next week?

Over the 90 minutes as a whole Worksop deserved the victory, but the margin was possibly a bit flattering on the night.

The win puts WTFC U19's back up to 3rd place in the table.

Tonight's attendance was 37, lower than usual, but you couldn't blame anybody for not braving the elements with Met office warning of impending blizzards ... it was only fit for Eskimos in down-town Shirebrook tonight, even the host club's secretary Aimee Radford wore a jumper it was so cold!

Well done to both teams for putting on such an entertaining game on a bone hard pitch ...
winter has arrived!!!
