The Spell Checker

Retford United deservedly went into the half time break a goal ahead after Colin Marrison scored on 45 minutes, there wasn't a great deal of decent football played in the first half but what glimpses of it there were were shown by the visitors.
A small section of the Worksop fans voiced their discontent at the Tigers management as the teams left the pitch for the break.

The Tigers came out fighting in the second half though and the game swung one way and then the other for the next 45 minutes.

Blimey! This new floodlight resistant camera idea needs a rethink.

Kevin Sanasy levelled the score on 55 minutes before Retford regained the lead from an heavily deflected shot. The goal was credited to Stuart Ludlam, though OG could quite easily have been been awarded it too.

Gary Townsend's first (Worksop's second) was the pick of five second half goals on 66 minutes. Townsend then put the Tigers 3-2 ahead on 70 minutes.
Mick Godber, scored the equaliser for Retford on 82 minutes after running through unchallenged in loads of space. Retford had just cleared a corner taken by the Tigers left back, hence the space!

Honours even, but it takes the gloss off any so called derby when it's played so far from the actual locality of the two teams taking part.
That also reflected in the disappointing attendance of 217 tonight which some people thought was quite a good turn out for a midweek game with England's World Cup qualifier being shown live on ITV and a good few Worksop fans actually being at Wembley for England's 5-1 win, but it wasn't even half (at the very least) of what it could and would have been if the game had been played in either Worksop or Retford.
