Sunday July 7th will see Westfield Lane in South Elmsall, home to Frickley Athletic FC, host a Charity game of local players against a Legends XI to raise funds for "Beth’s Angels.""Beth’s Angels" is the charity formed to help those involved in the recent M62 coach accident which saw 20 women travelling to Liverpool from South Elmsall for a Hen Party involved in the crash.
One person, Bethany Jones, tragically died whilst the other 19 were seriously injured.
The Legends XI will include the likes of former Manchester United and England star Lee Sharpe, ex-Nottingham Forest and Wales goalkeeper Mark Crossley, ex-Leeds United, Sheffield Wednesday and Republic of Ireland midfielder John Sheridan, former Newcastle United left-back John Beresford and ex-Sheffield Wednesday and England striker David Hirst.
Many more well-known former players are due to confirm their involvement in the near future.
The team of local players will be made up of players each paying £30 to play 30 minutes against the Legends.
