Retford United FC - New Reserve Team 2013-14

In the spirit of the mutual respect and co-operation that continues to grow between the neighbouring Bassetlaw football clubs of Harworth Colliery and Retford United, as regards the staging and supporting of fundraising initiatives with and for one another, raising sponsorship for each others events and players, helping out with last minute friendly games when either of us require one and a whole host of other acts of sporting friendship; I am more than happy to reproduce the following Retford United statement verbatim on this blog, in the hope that it might help them to get a suitable response.
Retford United FC, of the North East Counties League are going to be fielding a reserve team next season in the Central Midlands Reserves Supreme Division.
The club is now placing a heavy emphasis on developing young local players who have the talent to go on to play at 1st team level or above.
Last season our Under 19s was the most succesful the club has ever had and the next stage of the development for the club is to install a reserves team where we can prepare players for the step up into senior football.
We have been accepted into the CMFL as members of the Reserves Supreme Division commencing this season and a good structure is already in place including both a General Secretary and a Matchday Secretary to assist with all the necessary paperwork and finance.
14 of last years U19s squad, along with some trialists, have already expressed an interest in being part of the reserves set up, which will be supplemented also by the current U19s and the 1st team.
We are looking for the right person to help us to continue to develop the club going forward working alongside the existing management teams at both levels.
Anyone interested in this position should contact Rich Williams by emailingrichwilliams72@yahoo.co.uk.
The club are also looking for friendlies for their reserves and U19s teams and anyone interested can also contact Retford United via Rich about that too.
